Peter Means

I’m Peter Means, a Blacksburg, Virginia photographer and digital communications strategist. I’ve shot over 400 individuals, families, and events in the area and would love to take your photos!

For more than 20 years, I’ve worked at the intersection of photography, design, and storytelling, helping organizations communicate with clarity and impact. I currently serve as Digital Communications Marketing Manager for the Virginia Tech College of Engineering, where I lead visual storytelling and digital strategy across platforms and publications.

Today, I bring that same professional eye and calm, experienced approach to portrait photography for seniors, graduates, families, professionals, and businesses, creating images that feel natural, authentic, and elevated.

And as a dad of a high schooler and a college student, I know how to keep sessions comfortable, relaxed, and easy.

If you’re looking for photography that feels natural, thoughtful, and genuinely you, I’d love to connect.
